Yodio Summary of Social Networking
When viewing "Shift Happens" and "Vision: 2011",I couldn't help but think of my mother that is now becoming an "Ingineous Digital Citizen". Not that she is leaving me behind in her tracks, but she does things daily on her IPAD that I have not even accomplished yet. Of course I do feel a little intimidated that 3 year olds and 65 year olds know more about technology than I do, but I will catch up!
In Shift Happens,I never would have thought of Facebook as a country. That statistic astounded me. Of course now, it makes a lot of sense since people all over the world are using it. I have not become a user of twitter yet, but the fact that popular celebrities have more followers than certain countries makes me slightly nervous that all of a sudden you are becoming "the news." Also, the fact that "news finds us" is a little scary, but these are the realities of today.
In thinking about working with 1st and 2nd graders, I know that some teachers are using IPads in the classroom for children to work on projects. In my preschool classroom children used technology daily to play learning games that even I had a hard time with technologically. The children in my class learned quickly how to navigate the computer. How this will impact my students is first of all, I need to catch up! In order to be able to prepare them, I need to be on my own journey of becoming a "Ingeneous Digital Citizen". I think that even though younger students are still learning to read and write, technology is another tool that can be useful in that process.

One can observe that these two videos had quite an impact on your being. Several candidates mentioned the aggressive tone of the first video and how much more at ease they were with the second one. I think you'll be amazed at your increased level of self-confidence as each week of this course progresses. Take a moment to reflect on experiences this week, and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Your mom has the iPad, and you have Yodio & Blogging! Teach each other!
